The Amsterdam Journal of Social Sciences (AJSS) is a student-led journal affiliated with the University of Amsterdam. We aim to provide an interdisciplinary approach to contemporary debates in Social Science. Our mission is to ensure a platform for students to publish their work, exchange ideas, and be part of an academic community. In ensuring these different functions, the AJSS consists of different teams that work together.
As a communication officer at the AJSS your role is to provide the journal with clear communication internally and externally. This entails the mediation of the communication between the different teams of the AJSS and the communication towards students, academics, and professionals outside the AJSS. In doing so, the communication officers develop a strategy of a more general way in which the communication of the journal should be developed. Additionally, there are some administrative tasks, including keeping track of contact details of relevant people and members, taking notes in meetings, and structuring our files.
